Board Meeting -12/14/2020

 

1.  Call to order

   7:06 PM

3.  Approval of previous meeting notes

   Approved - no discussion

 

4.  Unfinished business

   - Mindy Grant from Clay county 4H.  Maybe an opportunity to collaborate on "camps" to focus on robotics fundamentals -                        programming, mechanical, CAD, tool usage, engineering process, etc.  Share equipment and resources.  4H has some FIRST              and some Engineering Design Challenge (MN 4H) groups.  4H is an extension program so Mindy is MN focused, but can share              across into ND.  Maybe investigate a drone based program.  Propose 1 or 2 small test programs - in the summertime.  We'll                  keep in touch with Mindy.

 

5.  Committee status reports

   Organization:  Aaron Fischer

   - IRS is catching up - hopefully some actual progress in the next month

 

   Facilities: group discussion

   - Updated Career Academy floorplan has some of our suggestions included.  Tentatively planning to move out of existing facility          whenever seasons wrap up in '21 - FRC still planning to start a season in January - without a real competition.

 

   Fundraising: Jason Ryan

   - No active fundraising.

   - Current account balance is ~16K.  Allocated for STEM expenses ~9K.  Monthly expenses are ~1100.

   - Still need a replacement for Jason Ryan - no one has expressed interest yet.

 

   PR: Hannah Reisdorf / Rory Held

   - Namecheap may be ok for website hosting for another year.  Tim Ryan will investigate.  Need to decide this week.  Renewal due on Dec. 19th.

   - Business cards still on hold - no urgent need for them

 

 

6.  New Business

   - Area FRC teams have been invited to participate in an event sponsored by Northern MN Robotics Conference in the spring.  Rory        Held has details.
